Fraser Valley Cataract & Laser (FVCL) is a rapidly growing ophthalmology clinic specializing in advanced eye care and surgical procedures. Our team of nationally recognized ophthalmologists provides a full spectrum of ocular services, including MSP-covered exams and surgeries, private lens procedures, and LASIK.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented Part-Time Cataract Counselor to join our Refractive Department. In this role, you'll guide patients through their cataract and refractive surgery options, helping them feel confident and well-informed at every stage of their surgical journey.
This is a part-time role, ideally 3 days per week, with initial training taking place at both our Surrey and Abbotsford clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Educate and counsel patients on cataract surgery options and other refractive procedures (RLE, ICL, LASIK, PRK).
- Manage surgical slating and create patient surgical charts.
- Compile and analyze monthly KPI reports based on weekly barometers.
- Coordinate follow-up calls with refractive surgery patients.
- Assist with administrative duties, including scanning, filing, and photocopying.
- Unpack and organize inventory as needed.
- Support additional tasks as required by the lead.
What Were Looking For:
- 1-2 years of ophthalmology experience (preferred) in a fast-paced clinic setting.
- Strong knowledge of refractive and cataract surgeries.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to counsel patients effectively.
- Proficiency with Google Drive, Google Sheets, MS Excel, Word, Accuro EMR, and PowerPoint.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- A commitment to delivering world-class patient care.
- Must be willing to train in our Surrey location for the first 3 months before transitioning to our Abbotsford clinic.
- Fluency in Mandarin or Hindi is an asset.
