Position: Student, Protein Production and Structural Biology

Location: MaRS Centre, Toronto

Department: Drug Discovery

Reports To: Senior Scientific Advisor

Salary: Commensurate with level of experience; plus a defined benefit pension plan (HOOPP)

Hours: 35hours/week

Job Type: On-site

Status: Full-time for three (3) months

Position Summary

The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a Student with a background in protein sciences to join the Drug Discovery Program.

This position is temporary, full-time for three (3) months.

Position Responsibilities

• Work closely with scientists to learn needed laboratory skills
• Express and purify proteins
• Collaborate effectively with the Protein Production, Assays, and Structural Biology teams
• Communicate effectively with internal collaborators
• Adhere to all OICR safety guidelines and policies, and follow Best Laboratory Practices
  

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BSc in a related area
• Some experience in basic protein biochemistry
• Basic knowledge of protein production
• Great team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly motivated and willing to adapt to a changing environment
