Financial Accountant
Our client in Calgary is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting. This position encompasses full-cycle accounting responsibilities, tax coordination, and audit support across a complex multi-entity structure. The role is integral to ensuring regulatory compliance and providing the financial insights necessary for informed business decision-making. This is a hybrid role with a requirement for 3-4 days in office at the downtown office location.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Manage the month-end close and assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Manage client billing, general journal entries, reconciliations and FX processes.
• Maintain monthly working papers including loan schedules, accruals, and prepaid amortization
• Preparation monthly and quarterly financial reports and perform variance analysis.
• Assist with internal and external audits including the preparation of quarterly ASC compliance reports.
• Lead tax processes across entities, including tax estimates, schedules, instalment payments, and coordination with external tax advisors
• Support resolution of tax audits and ensure compliance across corporate, trust, partnership, and individual filings

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor's degree and CPA with one-year post-designation experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation and supporting documentation
• Experience with personal and/or corporate tax principles (asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software (preferred)
