Properly is a third-generation family-owned organization/family office based in Calgary, Alberta. Weare a small and tight-knit group that oversees a public equity portfolio, wholly owned operatingbusinesses, commercial and private real estate, and private investments.

Job Summary:
You will support a wide range of financial, operational, and administrative functions across multiplerelated entities. Working directly with our Accountant who is responsible for booking alltransactions and creating monthly financial statements, reporting to our COO/CFO, you willprepare accurate, timely and useful information for all entities which forms the basis for monthly,quarterly, and annual reporting. While on average this job will require two to two and a half days perweek of your time, at month, quarter and year ends, there will be additional days required to meetreporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting, bookkeeping, and back-office administration
Ensure clear and effective operating processes and internal controls are welldocumented and in place.
Establish and maintain chart of accounts for all individuals and entities.
Prepare/review journal entries and reconciliations for monthly and quarterly generalledger closes on an accrual basis.
Review intercompany activities and manage accounts payable.
Cash management, including forecasting future cash needs and ensuring that bank accounts are appropriately funded and reconciled in advance of those needs.
In conjunction with the CFO/COO prepare an annual operating budget for each entity;
Financial administration of all corporate and private properties.
2. Financial & Investment Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, incomestatement, and cash flow statement) in a form providing for the unique informationalneeds of the users for review by CFO and presentation to stakeholders.
Preparation and reconciliation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual investmentperformance (including summary of investment balances and values, and rates ofreturn), individually and by entity.
Automate and improve our reporting quality and efficiency.
3. Tax Preparation & Legal
Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation.
Prepare and review (where prepared by third parties) personal and corporate tax returnsfor final review by CFO and appropriate experts.
Interface with CRA and other regulatory agencies on tax, excise and other regulatory matters.
Maintain up to date filings and corporate minute books for all entities.


Key Requirements & Qualifications:
CPA designation earned while working at a Big Four firm (or similar) with a degree inFinance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience, preferably within a family office, private wealth, ormulti-entity organization with rigorous financial reporting responsibilities.
Experience and knowledge of investment administration (public and private).
Expert in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, MS Business Central 365) and Excel.
Experience with tax preparation software.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational abilities.
Aptitude for finding efficiencies and adopting new software.
Ability to manage multiple entities and financial structures.
