Business Unit:Chew Excavating

Location:Victoria, British Columbia

Reporting to:Operations Manager/Dispatch

Wage Rate:$30.24 to $34.73+ 11.5% vacation/statutory holiday pay + $2.95/hr pension contribution and union benefits.

Hours of Work:
Up to 40 hours per week. Weekend Availability Required Periodically

ChewExcavating, a member ofthe Ralmax Group of Companies, has an exciting and immediate opening for a full-time or part-time Crane Truck Driver in Victoria, BC to deliver to industrial, commercial, and residential construction job sites. Ability to operate a dump truck; truck & pup; truck & quad is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a 10-ton tridem Hiab truck.
  • Safely operate Hiab to load and unload equipment and materials.
  • Communicate with Dispatch using a radio, telephones, and email.
  • Complete daily inspection forms and timecards in an orderly fashion.
  • Play a positive role in influencing workplace morale
  • Must take responsibility for their equipment and keep it in a clean & orderly fashion.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of related driving experience preferred.
  • Class 1 Driver's License or Class 3 with Air Endorsement
  • Certification for operating mobile cranes 10 tons or over
  • Geographical knowledge of the Greater Victoria area is a benefit

Knowledge and Skills

  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Work Conditions:

  • The driver must be able to safely maneuver the truck in congested areas with often uneven ground conditions.
  • Must be open to work occasional weekend shifts.
