Job Description

Over the past few years, Leede Financial (Leede) has experienced considerable growth, doubling its users and tripling its branches to become a nationwide, independent investment dealer. Leede is assembling a strong IT Team to support these changes and is looking for an entry-level technician to join us immediately.

Reporting to the VP of Information Technology (VPIT), the User Support Technician (UST) operates with a customer-focused view of network and system operation, reliability and performance, focusing heavily on the details of managing Leede's user environment.

The UST will spend a considerable amount of time handling user requests (Help Desk), monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting the user environment, and is expected to take ownership of this component of Leede's larger IT operations, performing routine maintenance, addressing problems and planning for long-term sustainability.

You will also spend a portion of your time monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting particular servers and back-office applications, as assigned to you by the Team. You will perform routine maintenance, address problems and, working with the Team, plan for the future of these systems.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Postsecondary: Undergraduate degree or a diploma in an IT-related discipline from an accredited college/university (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with Microsoft Azure,
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet LAN/WAN operation, TCP/IP, routing and switching,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Servers server operating systems
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and English comprehension
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Works well within a team and independently
  • Works well under pressure and is detail-oriented

Experience:

Hands-on experience in the following areas is an asset:

  • Providing excellent customer service at a Help Desk
  • Installing, configuring and supporting:
  • Windows 10 and 11
  • MS Office 365 Suite
  • iPhone and Android
  • Endpoint Protection software
  • Using Enterprise level Image Deployment tools (MDT, WDS, or other)
  • Managing the desktop experience using a major-brand Help Desk application
  • Installing, configuring and administering Windows Servers
  • Installing, configuring and administering Active Directory and the associated services:
  • Active Directory
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Group Policy
  • File and Print services

Previous technical experience in the financial services industry and experience with the following is an assets:

  • ThomsonONE, Bloomberg, QuoteStream, ITS, IRESS, DTCC, CDS and Broadridge applications
  • Configuring and administering major-brand (FortiNet, HP, Cisco) switches and routers
  • Administering a major brand of firewall (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Configuring and administering a major brand of IP telephony system spanning multiple sites
  • Configuring and administering a major brand of servers
  • Project management
