Data Access Management (DAM)

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The Data Access Management (DAM) program is establishing an enterprise service to provide data discovery, data classification, data ownership and data access management capabilities. The program requires the candidates to support the DAM services and its operations.

Job Responsibilities:

The Data Access Operations Analyst will be part of the Logical and Access Governance Operations team with a focus to support the maintenance of the DAM service and Data Access remediations. The Data Operations Analyst will be the first line of contact regarding service incidents, availability, etc. along with tracking and triaging data access findings provided by DAM tool (Securiti.ai).

The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Monitor heath check, availability for DAM tool and associated integrations.
  • Assess, analyze, troubleshoot L1 and L2 ticket related to DAM services.
  • Escalate and involve DAMP engineering team as required for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Manage exceptions to standard data access policies, including emergency access provisions.
  • Support in onboarding new additional data sources to DAMP services
  • Analyzing and interpreting data discovery results, identifying potential issues related to access policies.
  • Track and triage Data Access findings identified by the DAM solution and engage relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and execute Data Access Certification process (periodic review of access privileges to files containing sensitive information)
  • Remediate the Data Access Certification recommendations from DAM solution by following Canada Life defined workflows and processes.
  • Support Audit with timely delivery of evidence and triage all requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate and contribute to data owner identification & maintenance process.
  • Identify, analyze, interpret trends or patterns in Data Access issues and requests, driving deeper insights.
  • Help prepare regular updates for stakeholders regarding incidents, metrics, timelines, progress, and issues.
  • Follow CanadaLife standard operation SLAs, process, and procedures for IAM operations.
  • Demonstrate excellent management skills and promote teamwork and individual accountability with engagement and use available technology, tools, and Canada life resources effectively to deliver services.
  • Assist in enhancing the operations process and DAMP services be providing technical and process feedback.

Expected Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Informatics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in supporting Data Access Management systems like Big ID, Varonis, Securiti, One Trust, Collibra, etc.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant and related experience in ITSM Technology Support
  • Work experience in financial industry is a plus.
  • Good understanding of data access policies and standards, access control measures & remediation, data classification and handling, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise risks associated with data access management.
  • Good understanding of different type of unstructured data sources like File Shares, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
  • Diligence, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Ability to structure work assignments required to get to desired outcomes.
  • Great stakeholder management skills and excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across multiple geographies and business functions
