Wage range: $25.00/hr-28.00/hr

Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for:

  • Supporting the Inventory Manager, ensuring that the inventory management process is complete and in accordance with Canadian Surgery Solutions policies and processes.
  • Compliance with contract terms and conditions assigned within vendor groups.
  • Maintaining and updating the inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Input and maintain all vendor contracts.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Manager, Surgical Services to ensure accuracy and continuity of supplies and implants.
  • Receive and store supplies and equipment.
  • Track orders and maintain inventory records.
  • Report damaged or deficient items to the Inventory Manager and vendor.
  • Audit and replenish supply carts.
  • Monitor shelf life, requisition items in low supply and ensure items are used in a first-in, first-out basis.
  • Audit out-going orders and report discrepancies
  • Arranges for return of damaged or recalled items.
  • Maintains statistics for reporting.
  • Standardizing and maximizing the value of items purchased.
  • Consults with user departments and suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Shipping and receiving all loaners and repairs.
  • Close out purchase orders and fiscal periods in the inventory management system within required timelines.
  • Review and process all invoices in the accounting system and submit items for approval within required timelines.
  • Review weekly operating room slates with the Inventory Manager to anticipate the required medical supplies for the upcoming surgeries
  • Participate in inventory counts and audits.

Work Environment:

  • You will work in a medical facility's storage area and may need to move throughout the building.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a focus on quality and timeliness.
