Job Description

Company Overview

At PAIM, we're redefining patient and member engagement through innovative AI-driven voice automation. Our technology empowers wellness and health businesses to deliver seamless, 24/7 interactions, enhancing member/patient satisfaction and loyalty. Join us as we build the future of engagement through intelligent solutions that transform how businesses handle operations.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Full-Time DevOps Engineer with front-end and back-end development experience and a surface-level understanding of AI to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and scaling PAIM's infrastructure on AWS, building robust deployment pipelines, and contributing to the development of a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. You'll work closely with our engineering and product teams to ensure reliability, security, and performance across all systems.

Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins to support continuous integration, automated testing, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & IaC: Architect, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement real-time monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or CloudWatch to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, including IAM policies, network security groups, VPC configurations, data encryption, SSL/TLS, and HIPAA-compliant infrastructure design for healthcare applications.
  • Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Proactively identify bottlenecks and system failures. Perform root cause analysis and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues efficiently.
  • Collaboration on EMR Systems: Work closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams to design and build a secure, scalable Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system with features like patient data management, audit logs, and secure access control.
  • Application Development Support: Provide full-stack support across Node.js/Express backends and React/Angular frontends. Assist with API development, database schema design, and UI/UX enhancements.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Build and maintain Docker images and manage orchestration via Kubernetes (EKS) or AWS Fargate. Ensure optimized container lifecycle, autoscaling, and resource utilization.
  • Serverless Architecture: Integrate and support AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Step Functions where applicable for event-driven microservices and automation.
  • Innovation & Automation: Explore new DevOps tools, scripting automation (Bash, Python), and modern deployment strategies (blue/green, canary) to improve team velocity and system robustness.

Qualifications

  • Education & Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in a DevOps/SRE role.
  • DevOps Experience: Professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Platform Engineer, with extensive hands-on work in AWS environments.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, VPCs).
  • IaC & Configuration Management: Proven expertise in Terraform or CloudFormation for managing and provisioning infrastructure.
  • CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab for pipeline automation.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
  • Development Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with full-stack experience using the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) or MEAN (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) stack.
  • Database Knowledge: Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, or DynamoDB, and schema design for scalable applications.
  • AI/ML Awareness: Basic familiarity with OpenAI API, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or ML model deployment pipelines is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a startup-like, fast-paced environment. Proactive ownership mentality with attention to detail.

Why Join PAIM?

• Be a key part of building an innovative AI and healthcare technology ecosystem.

• Own major initiatives from infrastructure management to EMR system development.

• Flexible fully remote role with a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team.

• Opportunities for growth, impact, and learning as we scale.
