Your responsibilities:
- Ensure operations are running effectively to manage DSO Targets
- Design and implement processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables
- Conduct weekly Collection meetings with branches across Canada
- Mediate between branches and customers to resolve issues with collections
- Contact delinquent customers via telephone or letters to discuss payment alternatives
- Extensively communicate with key customers & internal contacts to resolve account discrepancies by investigating & reviewing supportive documentation
- Issue suspension of service notices and final demand letters to non-paying customers
- Complete paperwork for processing service to serve on customers
- Attend arbitrations meetings with clients/vendors
- Manage the performance of Credit and Collection personnel
- Lead, Teams of Collectors divided by Districts across Canada
- Manage strong relationships internally with Branches, Billing, Job Costing, Cash Application Teams
- Review & Approve Bad Debt Write off
- Review reports and analyses to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of current policies, processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
- Provide Reports on Overdue Accounts and other various collections metrics
- Work closely with various Departments / External lawyers to collect on judgements awarded by Courts including filling appropriate paperwork
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Credit and Collections in a global environment
- Experience in the Construction industry will be an asset
- Minimum 3+ years leading a team in Credit and/or Collections
- University Degree or Diploma / designation
- Knowledge and understanding of Construction Lien Law
- Effective communication skills and proven ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and achieve goals and objectives
- High sense of urgency and strong work ethic
