Branch Manager for our Edmonton Location

Headwater Equipment has been serving the construction industry for over 27 years, growing from one branch in Southern Alberta to 5 branches in Western Canada. We are a Heavy Equipment Sales, Service and Parts company, the mainline brands we sell are Sany Heavy Machinery, Rokbak Articulated Trucks and Ammann Compaction products. We are authorized repair and parts distributors for Cummins, Isuzu, Deutz and Scania. Headwater also refurbishes and repairs late model heavy construction and mining equipment. We are a family run business that believes its employees are its greatest asset and that superior customer service is of paramount importance.

Our Edmonton branch has been open for just over 5 years and is in need of a strong leader to help this branch grow. The general manager is an integral position in helping Headwater Equipment achieve our market share goals and grow our parts and service departments. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that we set high standards of integrity and have a self driven person in the general manager position.

Position Summary:

Responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while overseeing the company's overall operations at the Edmonton branch. They are to oversee several elements in the business, including hiring staff, growing service and parts sales, overseeing branch operations, and assisting with sales and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations

  • Sales within the City of Edmonton and area

    • Assist with Service, Equipment and Parts Sales

    • Assist sales staff as needed - collaborate with sales manager

  • Work with senior management on strategies and goals for branch growth

  • Assist with customer service and dispute resolution

  • Oversee branch expenses

  • Assess current policies and procedures and recommend improvements as needed

  • Evaluate and improve operations at the branch level

  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally

  • Assist with recruitment and training of new employees

  • Direct the employee assessment process for the branch

  • Ensure staff follow health and safety regulations

  • Assist with HR issues that may arise within the branch

  • Service and Parts Managers will report to the branch manager

Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role

    • 3+ years experience in a management role

  • Experience in planning and budgeting

  • Knowledge of business process and functions

  • Strong analytical ability

  • General computer skills with familiarity with Excel spreadsheets

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Customer service and sales experience/skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Valid Driver's license
