Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret job specifications to ensure all production requirements are met accurately, completing necessary paperwork to maintain compliance with production standards.
- Operate folding machinery to produce booklets, ensuring materials meet the stringent specifications required in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Monitor the folding process closely to prevent paper jams and maintain smooth operation. Conduct quality checks to identify and correct any defects or imperfections.
- Prepare packaging materials (trays, cartons) and perform shrink-wrapping to secure booklets for distribution.
- Operate Longford and outsert machines, ensuring proper setup for each production run to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the quality inspector to understand the complete quality assurance process, including conducting final inspections and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support overall production goals.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of machine operation experience (ideally in paper manufacturing or pharmaceuticals, with a focus on quality assurance).
- Candidates must have experience with acceptable machinery (see list below). Applications without this specific experience will not be considered.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods (10-hour shifts).
- Proven record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production needs.
- Must be available for long-term employment.
- CSA-approved safety shoes and reliable transportation are mandatory due to shift times and location.
Training & Progression:
- Candidates will undergo an extensive training program (1-3 months) covering operational and quality control aspects of the machinery.
Shift Information:
- Monday to Thursday 3:48 pm to 1:48 am
- Monday to Thursday 6:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Reliable transportation is essential as public transit may not be available after shift times.
Compensation: $22 per hour

- Booklet Makers (e.g., Horizon StitchLiner, Duplo)
- Collating Machines (e.g., Duplo, Horizon)
- Inserter Machines (e.g., Robatech, MGS)
- Guillotine Cutters / Slitters (e.g., Polar Mohr)
- Stacker Machines (e.g., Palamides)
- Quality Control Vision Systems (e.g., Cognex)
- Conveyor Systems and PLC-controlled packaging lines
