VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
Manufacturing
Mississauga, ON
OUR CLIENT

Our client is a highly regarded Canadian-based manufacturer in the industrial products sector, recognized for their unwavering commitment to quality, precision, and customer service. With a proud legacy of manufacturing excellence and a strong people-first culture at the core of its success, the company continues to set the standard within its market segment. As they enter a significant phase of growth - expanding their presence in established markets while strategically moving into new ones - they are seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to play a pivotal leadership role in driving financial strategy, operational efficiency, and enabling and sustaining long-term growth.
THE VISION
Reporting directly to the President and serving as a strategic advisor to the executive team and board, the Vice President of Finance will oversee all financial, IT, and risk management functions on behalf of the business. This role calls for a leader who brings the financial rigor of a CFO with the mindset of a business builder - someone who can advise and drive business performance through strategic investments, systems optimization, and people development. The VP of Finance will play a central role in shaping the organization's next chapter by aligning finance and technology with the broader business plan.
THE ROLE
The Vice President of Finance will lead a team that includes Finance, IT, and administrative professionals. This individual will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance, while also driving key initiatives around digital transformation, capital planning, and financial strategy. This is a hands-on, visible role that blends financial leadership with operational insight and offers the opportunity to impact business decisions at the highest level.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development of annual budgets and multi-year forecasts
  • Managing cash flow, reporting, and compliance with internal and external stakeholders
  • Overseeing tax planning, audits, risk mitigation, and insurance coverage
  • Evaluating capital expenditures, M&A opportunities, and strategic business investments
  • Driving digital enablement across the finance and IT functions, including ERP optimization, automation, and cybersecurity planning
  • Leading a proactive, data-driven approach to financial decision-making
  • Supporting the President and Board with reporting and strategic input
  • Mentoring and growing talent within the finance team

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader, with exposure working within manufacturing environments. They will possess a proven ability to align financial strategy with business growth, bringing a practical, hands-on approach, paired with strong analytical skills, commercial insight, and a people-first leadership style.
A CPA or CA designation is required. An MBA would be considered an asset.
Key qualifications include:
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Deep knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders, from shop floor to boardroom
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing talent
  • Familiarity with IT oversight, ERP systems, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience leading M&A evaluations, capital investment planning, and risk mitigation
  • A strategic mindset with the drive to continuously improve processes and performance
THE SCOPE
This is a critical leadership role that goes beyond finance. The VP of Finance will be a key voice at the senior leadership table - driving performance, shaping the organization's future, and creating structure to support long-term scale. A genuine interest in coaching and mentoring is essential, as is the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, HR, and technology.
As the company looks to strengthen its position in the market and embrace innovation, this role offers the chance to leave a lasting impact on a proudly Canadian organization, with international recognition and reach.
NEXT STEPS
If you're a finance leader who thrives on building systems, developing people, and helping businesses grow with discipline and purpose, we want to hear from you. Please apply via the DMC website. This search is being conducted with priority on behalf of our client.
