The Human Resources Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment. Please note this role is required to be on-site 5 days a week at our Markham office.
Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all or part of these areas:
- Payroll processing and data verification in ADP Workforce Now for approximately 100 salaried and hourly employees;
- Employment and compliance with regulatory concerns and reporting;
- Employee orientation, development, and training;
- Policy development and documentation;
- Employee relations;
- Company-wide committee facilitation;
- Company employee communication;
- Compensation and benefits administration;
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; and
- Employee services and counseling;
- Organizational and space planning;
- Recruiting and staffing logistics;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Human Resources, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience. CHRP or PCP is an asset.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources and Payroll position
- Problem-solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, and manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Quality control – the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Strong planning and organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
