Smart Home Designer / Home Automation Specialist

Location: Vancouver / Burnaby area

We are looking for a talented Smart Home Designer to join our team and help us create exceptional smart home experiences for our clients. If you're passionate about technology, design, and creating intelligent environments that make a real difference in people's lives, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design Smart Home Systems: Plan and design smart home systems, including lighting, climate control, security, AV systems, and home automation.
  • Client Consultation: Work directly with clients to understand their needs and create custom smart home solutions that align with their lifestyle and preferences.
  • System Integration: Integrate various smart technologies (e.g., IoT, security, automation) into seamless, user-friendly systems.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from design to implementation, collaborating with contractors, electricians, and other professionals to ensure smooth installation and system functionality.
  • Customization and Troubleshooting: Offer tailored solutions for clients and troubleshoot any technical issues post-installation.
  • Design Software Proficiency: Use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or proprietary design tools to create detailed designs and schematics.
  • Training and Support: Provide client training on how to operate and maintain their smart home systems.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in smart home technology and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications / Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in home automation
  • Proven experience in smart home design or related fields with a portfolio of completed projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of smart home systems and equipment, including lighting control, security, HVAC, AV, and home automation.
  • Experience with system integration, network design, and configuring smart devices (e.g., Control4, Crestron, Lutron).
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
