Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Consultant, Accessibility Compliance to support their Oversight Function for global and provincial accessibility regulations. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership to ensure accessibility compliance across jurisdictions in which the institution operates. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting enterprise-wide accessibility risk assessments and ensuring alignment with the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Oversight Function Lead in maintaining strong governance over global and Canadian provincial accessibility compliance (excluding the US).
- Conduct and document initial accessibility risk assessments and support remediation activities.
- Provide specialized, proactive advice to maintain robust accessibility compliance aligned with RCM frameworks.
- Track, monitor, and respond to regulatory developments, industry standards, and action plans related to accessibility compliance.
- Maintain and align policy documentation and the RCM Library.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting submissions, including those required for senior leadership.
- Lead and facilitate compliance review meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Provide reporting and summarization of large datasets using Excel tools.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- 4–5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory environments, or risk management.
- Strong understanding of accessibility laws and regulations (provincial and global, excluding the US).
- Familiarity with Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) programs and frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, developing controls, and maintaining policies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP
- Basic formulas
- Summarizing large datasets
- Strong organizational skills to track regulatory developments and manage deficiency remediation plans.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in documenting and streamlining processes for continuous improvement.
- Previous Business Analyst (BA) experience is an asset.
- Consulting firm experience is considered a strong advantage.
- Firsthand experience or understanding of accessibility or disability-related challenges.
