Our client is a successful automotive manufacturing company located in GTA north and they have an immediate need for a Facilities Supervisor. This position will be responsible for overseeing the plant and building facilities maintenance including upkeep and preventative maintenance for building, outbuildings and grounds. This role requires experience with building maintenance, HVAC and will build relationships with external contractors and supervises building security operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage parts inventory and Order replacement parts and spares as required
- Manage PM System. Report deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager as required.
- Modify PM checklists and frequency as required to improve effectiveness of the PM program. Perform regular audits to ensure Team usage and 100% complete.
- Manage the Annual contracts of the facility contractors where it pertains to the Chillers, Towers, Compressors, Heating and Air conditioning, waste water, cranes. Switchgear and main electrical feed/capacitor banks, Stamping line scrap conveyor.
- Ensure Contractor service is scheduled and on-time, obtain quotes as required for repairs and open issues are brought forward
- Maintain all Internal and Contractor work completed to support Audits and ISO.
- Request annual working Capital for Facilities and Equipment improvements.
- Back up the Maintenance Supervisor in his absence
- Assist in generating the weekly project list with the Maintenance Supervisor
- Suggest changes/improvements to working conditions and equipment
- Review Monthly Safety Talks.
Requirements
- 5 - years facilities supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced with large scale Facility projects and equipment upgrades.
- Industrial Electrician/Mechanic License or other equivalent technical certification/diploma
- Ability to manage and motivate experienced maintenance personnel
- Well versed in a variety of production equipment (i.e. stamping presses, injection moulding machines, welders robotics and general assembly)
- Understanding of PLC controlled equipment
- Excellent organizational and communication (written/verbal) skills
- Good understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Ability to prioritize breakdowns, rectify the problems with permanent solutions and minimize downtime
