Accounts Payable & Payroll Support – Film & Media Industry
Location: Toronto, ON (On-site, full-time)

Salary Range: $65K - $70K

A leading Canadian commercial film production group, recognized as one of the largest in the industry, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its growing finance team. This is a full-time, in-office position reporting to the Controller, offering the opportunity to work closely with internal teams across production and business operations.

This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute across both accounts payable and payroll functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accurately code and enter supplier invoices into proprietary accounting software

  • Monitor job-specific due dates and prepare cheque runs accordingly

  • Manage vendor statements, follow up on outstanding invoices, and ensure approvals are obtained

  • Respond to vendor payment inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Prepare quick cheques for production and coordinate bank drafts

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support for crew payroll

  • Assist in reviewing crew timesheets and preparing payroll submissions

  • Review edit reports and assist with the issuance of payroll cheques

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or general accounting

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

  • Background in advertising, production, or related creative industries is an asset

  • Familiarity with financial calculations and reconciliations
