Client is looking for a Data Architect with proven experience with implementation of Guidewire Claims migration and public sector knowledge. Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust data architecture to support the organization's business needs, translating complex business objectives into data strategies, overseeing data storage systems, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize data access and utilization across the client, all while adhering to compliance regulations related to worker injury and insurance data.

Resource Responsibilities

Data Strategy Development:

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify data needs and develop a comprehensive data architecture roadmap aligned with Clients strategic goals.
  
• Analyze current data landscape and identify areas for improvement, including data quality, accessibility, and integration.
  
• Define data standards, governance policies, and data quality metrics.
  
• Define Data Migration strategies that will help realize client roadmap.
  

Data Modeling and Design:

• Design and implement data models for various data sources, including operational systems, claims data, and external data feeds.
  
• Create logical and physical data models to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
  
• Develop data warehouse and data lake architectures to support analytics and reporting needs.
  

Data Integration and ETL:

• Design and manage data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate sources into the data warehouse.
  
• Ensure data consistency and accuracy across different systems.
  

Data Security and Compliance:

• Implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive stakeholder information and comply with privacy regulations.
  
• Monitor data access controls and audit data usage.
  

Performance Optimization:

• Monitor data performance and identify bottlenecks to optimize data processing speeds and query efficiency.
  
• Implement data caching strategies to improve response times.
  

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and data analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  

Communicate data architecture concepts and plans effectively to stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills

• Working with Agile practices and associated skills including user story writing and defining user acceptance criteria.
  
• Strong experience with Data Architecture and migration.
  
• Strong experience in BI, Reporting and data analytics.
  
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g. ERWin).
  
• Expertise in database, data warehousing technologies and tools for both On-Premise and Cloud (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Azure Datalake, Azure Synapse, Parquet, Cognos).
  
• Proficiency in data integration tools (e.g. Azure ADF, DataStage, SAPBODS).
  
• Experience working with Cloud migration and conversion from various legacy applications.
  
• Experience working with GW Insurance suite products, data modeling and database design.
  
• Knowledge of data governance practices and compliance regulations related to worker injury data.
  
• Identify related user stories and epics, group them into themes as necessary and document the interrelationship and associated business process flows.
  
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them in simple terms to nontechnical team members and clients.
  
• Proven experience with end-to-end business process mapping, business and technical requirements analysis, business planning, modeling, verification and methodology and product development.
  
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation skills and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  
• Analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills, to assess client requirements and translate these into functional and information documentation (e.g. re process/IT requirements and changes).
  
• Experience with data visualization tools to present insights.
  
• Experience working in Public sector is desirable.
  

• 10+ years experience in Design and Data Modelling.
  
• 7+ years experience in ETL, Data Migration, Data analysis and Data lineage specific activities (e.g. Azure ADF, DataStage, SAPBODS, AWS migration service).
  
• 5 + years of Strong experience in BI, Reporting and data analytics.
  
• Expertise in database, data warehousing technologies and tools (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Azure Datalake, Azure Synapse, Parquet, Cognos).
  
• Experience with Cloud migration from On-Prem to Cloud.
  
• 5+ Years of experience working with Guidewire Insurance Suite, including reporting and analytics.
  
• 2+ years experience working with Guidewire data, CDA (Cloud Data Access)
  
• 5+ years senior level communications experience including document prep, conducting workshops
