We promote community well-being by providing various social services, including counselling, early childhood development, early years programming, and seniors' programming in Kimberley and Cranbrook (www.SummitFamily.ca)

Due to our society's exciting growth, we seek a skilled and experienced financial professional. As a Finance Coordinator (FC), you assist in the society's daily financial and bookkeeping tasks and create and document standard financial operating procedures. Additionally, the FC creates financial models and analyzes reports to advise the Executive Director and the Board of Directors on financial and operational decisions. The FD reviews, develops, and implements financial systems and processes andperforms other financial-related duties.

Additional responsibilities include calculating and preparing cheques for payroll. The Finance Coordinator maintains and balances various accounts using computerized or manual bookkeeping systems. Daily tasks may also involve posting invoices, processing petty cash, and reconciling credit card payments.

Expectations for the Role

Payroll plus managing group benefit packages

Perform Bank and CC reconciliations at the end of each month

Processing ROEs and Canada Revenue transactions

Calculate, file and remit GST that is owed quarterly

Calculate, file, and remit WCB quarterly

Cash flow management

Process data analysis, presenting information to the Executive Director and the Board

Support for the budget-building process and consolidation

Develop and maintain cost-finding, reporting and internal control procedures

Prepare year-end statements for the auditor

Get a CRC for vulnerable adults and children

Qualifications
Required Education:
Accounting and/or Bookkeeping certification or equivalent experience

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Excellent understanding of bookkeeping skills and basic accounting skills

High level of proficiency with MS Office applications

Excellent QuickBooks online and desktop knowledge

Detail-oriented and excellent analytical skills

Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions

Well-developed interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating a friendly and supportive attitude toward colleagues

Proactive and self-motivated
