We are seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer to join a dynamic EPC firm based in Calgary, AB.
This firm provides multi-disciplinary engineering solutions across industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, and manufacturing. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and efficiency, the team works on projects of varying complexity and scale, ensuring successful project execution with cost-effective solutions. As an Intermediate Process Engineer, you'll add great value to these projects.
What you'll do as an Intermediate Process Engineer:

• Lead the development of process designs for project proposals, including feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and detailed process studies.
• Establish design criteria and prepare simulation models, PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment specifications, and supporting calculations.
• Conduct optimization and evaluation studies for processes and equipment, including hydraulic calculations, pump and compressor sizing, and slurry system design.
• Perform safety and hazard assessments, participate in HAZOP reviews, generate control narratives, and assist in preparing start-up and operating manuals.
• Review vendor designs for compliance with project specifications, and ensure all work meets regulatory requirements; seal and take professional responsibility for key deliverables.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation including data sheets, shutdown keys, PSV/line sizing, process data sheets, and maintain documentation per company standards.

What you'll bring as an Intermediate Process Engineer:

1. An Engineering degree with active P.Eng registration through APEGA.
2. 5+ years of experience in process or plant engineering within industries such as oil & gas, chemical, mining, or pulp & paper, with a willingness to specialize in Process Safety Management.
3. Skilled in developing and modifying P&IDs and Line Designation Tables; familiar with process simulation tools such as HYSYS, Symmetry, and ProMax.
4. Knowledge of gas compression systems, vapor recovery, and regulatory compliance related to EPA and Quad O.
5. Offer excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to customer service and continuous improvement in plant operations.
