JOB SUMMARY:
Sagamok Development Corporation (SDC) is seeking a highly organized and community-oriented Project Engagement Coordinator (PEC) to support the implementation of the Northeast Power Line (NEPL) and North Shore Link (NSL) transmission line projects in collaboration with Hydro One Networks Inc. The PEC will serve as the primary liaison between Hydro One and the Sagamok Anishnawbek community, ensuring timely, respectful, and effective communication, engagement, and participation throughout the project lifecycle.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Lead the day-to-day planning and execution of community engagement activities related to the NEPL and NSL projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact between SDC, Hydro One, and Sagamok Anishnawbek leadership.
- Disseminate project-related information from Hydro One to community leadership and members.
- Gather and document community feedback, concerns, and questions, and facilitate their communication to Hydro One.
- Support Hydro Ones efforts to create contracting, procurement, and employment opportunities for Sagamok members.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with Hydro One, community leadership, and relevant stakeholders.
- Schedule and attend site visits and field tours in collaboration with Hydro One.
- Maintain regular (at least monthly) check-ins with Hydro Ones engagement team.
- Respond to information requests from Hydro One in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administer and manage the Agreement(s) between Sagamok Anishnawbek and Hydro One.
- Assist with the planning and logistics of community information sessions and board meetings.
- Record and maintain minutes, engagement records, and related project documentation.
- Support the development of reports, updates, and presentations for SDC leadership and Chief & Council.
- Assist in monitoring engagement-related budgets and financial records and other duties as required.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Respect for, sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishnawbek culture, traditions, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Is subject to six months probation.
Clear Criminal Records Check (CPIC) that is valid within 6 months.
Valid drivers license and vehicle for on-the-job use.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree/College Diploma in business administration or a similar field is an asset.
1-2 years of project coordinating experience.
Proven time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet objectives
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Prior experience in project management is preferred.
Organized, self-disciplined, reliable and capable of evaluating the workload and obtaining cooperation from other departments.
