About the RoleReporting to a senior finance leader, this role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions, and enhancing operational efficiency through process optimization.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of accounts payable professionals to support performance and development
- Manage invoice processing, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and related workflows
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and implement improvements to support scale and accuracy
- Oversee monthly AP close activities, ensuring alignment with internal deadlines and financial controls
- Prepare tax filings and ensure timely remittance of tax-related payments to relevant authorities
- Maintain and enforce internal controls related to expenses and supplier disbursements
- Track and report on AP metrics and provide insights to senior leaders through dashboards and summaries
- Coordinate intercompany transactions and support journal entries for period-end reporting
- Support audits and compliance reviews in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed on evolving tax regulations and accounting standards to maintain compliance
- Contribute to organization-wide initiatives focused on operational risk, health, and safety
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc financial projects
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) is strongly preferred
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team management in an AP-focused role
- Solid understanding of financial controls, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities
- Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment is considered an asset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across departments
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
