The Opportunity

As a Power BI developer at Haptiq, your primary role will be to deliver productized, dynamic reports for a portfolio of businesses, applying the latest technology developments to optimize development and delivery processes. You will transform raw data into cohesive, valuable reports capturing meaningful business insights.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business stakeholders' needs
  • Gathering and understanding business requirements for data visualization and analysis
  • Usage of Power BI reporting, desktop, and services tools, including deployment automation and cloud updates
  • Coding dynamic solutions for reusable reports embedded in a fintech product
  • Meeting with business stakeholders to understand the meaning of their data, their business domain, and offering suggestions on how data can optimize their business
  • Suggesting and configuring Fabric and PBI licenses that reduce costs
  • Creating complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis
  • Writing Power M queries to extract and transform data for visualization
  • Configuring AD group accesses and role-level security.
  • Creating graphs, charts, visualizations, interactive controls, bookmarks by multi-level slicing, labeling ,and various data visualization techniques
  • Collaborating with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes
  • Ensuring data security and compliance with best practices
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in Power BI reports
  • Providing training and support to end users on using Power BI
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and trends

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation
  • Ability to write SQL queries to query source databases as necessary
  • Knowledge of semantic model creation in Power BI (DirectQuery and export)
  • Experience structuring Power BI transformations with shareable data flows
  • Hands-on experience tracking and collaborating on Power BI work streams with Git
  • Experience writing Power M queries
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts
  • Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability to changing business requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, or a relevant field
  • Power BI certifications are a plus
  • Javascript is a plus

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $90,000 CAD.
