Our client, a Top 5 bank in Canada, is looking to hire a Content Editor for an initial 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and conversion. This role is hybrid with in-office work every Wednesday and every 3rd Friday of the month in downtown Toronto.
Content Strategy & Research
- Conduct content strategy tasks and UX research for various project phases.
- Perform competitive analysis, content inventories, and usability research.
- Draft usability questions and wireframe content to inform and guide content decisions.
- Content Creation & Management
- Write, edit, and proofread content across public-facing digital properties to ensure clarity, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Ensure all copy meets brand voice, accessibility (WCAG 2.0), plain language standards, and editorial best practices.
- Optimize digital content using SEO tactics to enhance discoverability and engagement.
- Manage all editorial processes throughout project lifecycles, including translation coordination, version control, and CMS authoring.
- Support the content team in maintaining the editorial style guide and enforcing brand standards.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate within a “pod” that includes design leads, UX and visual designers, and content strategists.
- Work directly with cross-functional teams including product owners, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Lead content walkthroughs and ensure alignment with regulatory, legal, and business expectations.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Stay current with emerging digital technologies, accessibility standards, and content trends.
- Help onboard and mentor new team members in editorial workflow, content strategy, and CMS usage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and broader team efforts around editorial consistency and innovation.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in content editing, UX writing, content design, or a digital editorial environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of CP Style.
- Proven experience writing for the web and digital channels.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) or similar CMS platforms.
- Understanding of enterprise project methodologies and digital workflow tools.
- Experience collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams (UX, Creative, Product, Strategy).
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and inclusive writing practices.
- Working knowledge of SEO, UX principles, and tools like Jira and Confluence.
