Our client is a premier construction management and general contracting firm with a national footprint and a reputation for delivering complex ICI projects with excellence. Due to continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Estimator to take a leadership role in their preconstruction team based in Mississauga.

This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced professional to join a high-performing team involved in major new build institutional, commercial, and industrial projects across the GTA. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing large-scale estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and driving bidding strategies that align with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end estimating process for new build ICI projects valued between $20M and $150M+
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates
  • Develop tender and bid strategies in collaboration with senior leadership and project teams
  • Manage the preparation and submission of tender documents, RFPs, and budget estimates
  • Conduct risk analysis, cost control reviews, and value engineering exercises
  • Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain an updated database of material, labor, and equipment costs
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior and intermediate estimators
  • Participate in post-bid reviews, contract negotiations, and hand-off to project execution teams

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of estimating experience within the ICI construction sector, ideally focused on large-scale new build projects
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven ability to manage estimates on projects valued $50M+
  • Advanced proficiency with estimating tools such as Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, codes, and industry practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment

Why This Role?

  • Lead bids on marquee ICI developments across Ontario
  • Competitive compensation package with performance incentives
  • Career growth within a forward-thinking, established contractor
  • Work alongside a highly skilled and supportive preconstruction team
  • Comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities
