About the Opportunity
Our client is a premier construction management and general contracting firm with a national footprint and a reputation for delivering complex ICI projects with excellence. Due to continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Estimator to take a leadership role in their preconstruction team based in Mississauga.
This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced professional to join a high-performing team involved in major new build institutional, commercial, and industrial projects across the GTA. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing large-scale estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and driving bidding strategies that align with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end estimating process for new build ICI projects valued between $20M and $150M+
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates
- Develop tender and bid strategies in collaboration with senior leadership and project teams
- Manage the preparation and submission of tender documents, RFPs, and budget estimates
- Conduct risk analysis, cost control reviews, and value engineering exercises
- Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain an updated database of material, labor, and equipment costs
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior and intermediate estimators
- Participate in post-bid reviews, contract negotiations, and hand-off to project execution teams
Qualifications
- 8+ years of estimating experience within the ICI construction sector, ideally focused on large-scale new build projects
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven ability to manage estimates on projects valued $50M+
- Advanced proficiency with estimating tools such as Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, codes, and industry practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
