Status: Casual

Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours. Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).

Range: $22.51 to $24.08)

Location: Various Sites

Hours of work: Hours may vary as this is a casual position. Programing runs Monday – Sunday Typical programing hours are 8am-6pm.

Primary Role:

The Coast Employment and Community Service is looking for a charismatic Bus Driver. The Bus Driver is responsible for operating a Ford E350 Super Duty with a seating capacity of 12 for the purpose of driving various program members and Coast staff to scheduled outings in the lower mainland. They perform routine inspections and maintenance duties on the vehicles as required, and ensure safe transport of all passengers to and from outings.

This role reports to the Program Manager for the Clubouse

As a Bus Driver your typical day will impact in the following ways:

  1. Transporting Coast Clients and staff to scheduled outings.
  2. Observing the speed limit and road signs.
  3. Ensuring the maintenance of the bus such as filling the gas tank and windshield washer fluid, checking tire pressure, checking the oil and the cleanliness of the bus.
  4. Maintaining the internal cleanliness of the vehicle. and taking the bus for semi-annual CVI inspection.
  5. Report all safety concerns regarding the bus to Program Manager of the Clubhouse
  6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • A valid Class 4 or 5 B.C. Driver's License
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Safety orientated and confident driver
  • A Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance
  • Previous experience driving a large passenger vehicle an asset
  • WHMIS Certification

  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to organize work
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
  • Willingness to work with the members of the Coast Communities
