Job Description

Job Title: Customer Service Rep

Location: Oakville, ON

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week

  • Start Time: 8:00 AM
  • End Time: 4:30 PM
  • Lunch Break: 30 minutes
  • Note: Alternative start/end times may be accommodated between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary:

  • Hourly Rate: $24.00/hour
Reporting to:

Customer Service Supervisor

Responsibilities:
  • Report to work as assigned, on time, and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Interact professionally with internal personnel, customers, vendors, and associates.
  • Accurately process freight bills for TL, LTL, Courier, and Warehouse environments.
  • Process freight bills as per customer shipping requirements.
  • Deconsolidate freight bills accurately.
  • Respond promptly to customer freight inquiries and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and supervisors.
  • Apply fuel surcharges and accessorial charges accurately.
  • Validate customer freight bill orders for accuracy.
  • Support company goals related to gross margin by helping increase revenue and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and record shipment details.
  • Adhere to company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for consignees, customers, shippers, and associates.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and positive attitude with all personnel.
  • Provide support to the accounting department as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the transportation industry.
  • Freight rating experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with transportation management systems (Truckmate/TMW TMS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines (e.g., customer requests, month-end tasks).
