THE ROLE
STRIVE Recruitment is proud to be supporting a rapidly growing, publicly listed organization in the digital infrastructure and technology space in their search for a Tax Manager. This is a newly created role within their expanding global finance team, offering the opportunity to lead tax compliance, provision, and planning activities across a multi-entity, international structure.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, sales tax filings (GST, QST, VAT, and Sales & Use Tax), and withholding tax submissions across North America, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions (current and deferred) for financial statement reporting in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP standards.
- Monitor and interpret global tax law changes and provide insights on their potential impact.
- Serve as the main point of contact for external tax audits, preparing documentation and coordinating responses.
- Continuously review and improve tax compliance processes in alignment with SOX and internal control standards.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and recommend strategic tax planning initiatives to reduce tax liabilities and support business growth.
- Advise on the tax implications of business transactions and support M&A and restructuring initiatives from a tax perspective.
- Collaborate with leadership on corporate tax strategy and identify opportunities for process optimization and risk mitigation.
Transfer Pricing Management
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of transfer pricing policies that meet international compliance standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and intercompany agreements are in place to support cross-border transactions.
- Perform analytical reviews to validate the accuracy of income and expense allocations across global entities.
Collaboration & Project Support
- Liaise with auditors, legal counsel, and other external advisors on tax matters.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual financial close activities and support audit readiness.
- Participate in ad hoc financial projects and analyses as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- CPA designation required; In-Depth Tax Program completion preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws; knowledge of U.S. and international tax regulations is highly valued.
- Proficient in preparing tax provisions and managing tax for consolidated entities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in English; French language skills are a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with tax software and ERP systems.
- Must be team-oriented, proactive, and highly organized.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
