Scope of Work – Junior/Senior Architect
As a key member of the Modcity development team, the Junior/Senior Architect will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing architectural drawings and documentation throughout various stages of the development process, including:
- Preparing architectural drawings for submission to municipal authorities for Zoning Review, Committee of Adjustment (CofA), and Building Permit applications.
- Coordinating with consultants (surveyors, engineers, planners, etc.)
- Tracking application timelines, city comments, and revisions, ensuring all submissions align with municipal requirements and project schedules.
- Supporting construction and project managers with design clarifications, updates, and minor change requests as projects progress.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously across various stages of the development lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Architect or BCIN (we cover all licensing and subscription fees required for performance)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other design software is an asset)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and self-manage without constant oversight
- Familiarity with Toronto's municipal approvals process and Ontario Building Code considered a strong asset
