About Canaan Site Furnishings

Canaan Site Furnishings is Canada's leading provider of public site furniture. Since 2006, we've worked with architects and designers across North America to create attractive, functional spaces in parks, campuses, and cityscapes. We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in outbound sales, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow within a company that values initiative and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Development & Prospecting

  • Conduct outbound cold calls and personalized email outreach to engage new prospects.
  • Research and identify new markets and high-potential industries to target.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Book and lead virtual and on-site meetings and product demonstrations.
  • Understand client challenges and position our products as tailored solutions.

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with commercial clients.
  • Follow up on leads, proposals, and requests to close new business.
  • Support clients beyond the sale with day-to-day service and communication.
  • Handle incoming inquiries, coordinate with internal teams, and assist with quoting, order processing, and delivery updates.

Sales Strategy & Reporting

  • Track and meet weekly and monthly targets for outreach, leads, and new business booked.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Analyze sales trends, market data, and client feedback to help refine outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing team to support campaigns and share insights.

Customer Support & Operations

  • Assist with RFQs, POs, sales orders, invoices, agreements/contracts, and other documentation.
  • Help resolve customer concerns, including shipping delays, quality issues, and general product inquiries.
  • Provide general technical assistance related to product options and configurations.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in sales or customer service, preferably in B2B environments.
  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) — written and spoken.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially over phone and email.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM software.

Preferred

  • Experience in outbound sales or new business development.
  • Familiarity with architecture, design, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong research skills and ability to analyze commercial markets.
