JOB PURPOSE:
Manage warehouse staff, processes and systems and make sure productivity targets are met in a safe and efficient manner that is compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), government regulations and customer's expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains receiving, sampling/issuing, warehousing, distribution and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational procedures and company policies.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees weekly; following up on work results
- Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork within the warehouse department to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Brief team members on a daily basis
- Manage the warehouse staff and deal with personnel issues such as the recruitment, training, discipline, and performance management
- Develop and provide training to new warehouse technicians during new employee orientation
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts to ensure inventories are accurate; reconciling in SAP; investigate discrepancies
- Adjust stock from inventory cycle counts of materials and products as part of the material management function
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions as required
- Produce regular reports, metrics and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Contribute to warehouse resource planning (e.g. staffing, materials, equipment)
- Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and security in the work environment
- Complies with the federal, provincial, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions
- Promote and ensure compliance with cGMP according to SOP's
- Facilitate the resolution of audit identified deficiencies and performance gaps
- Provide Audit tours
- Participate in inter-departmental/functional collaborations and communications with various staff on internal improvement projects and/or client projects
- Visit internal customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving
- Facilitate improvements in process and documentation such as authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Look for ways to improve the efficiencies in the warehouse department
- Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment
- Supervise and independently perform waste management procedures according to internal procedures and applicable legislation (e.g. Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act)
- Lead and verify administrative tasks such as completing equipment and personal protective equipment inspections, temperature recordings and report documentation
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks
- Ability to lift 25 Kg
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a warehouse manager or supervisor. Preferably, experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
