Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Position: Full Time

Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Quality and Safety, the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, and for promoting a strong safety culture at all of Eagle's facilities.

Responsibilities:

•Develop, implement and maintain Eagle's HSE manual, policies, procedures, and programs.

•Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Labour Codes.

•Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies and procedures.

•Perform risk assessment, investigate and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions for job safety observations reported by employees.

•Collaborate with management and employees to identify hazards and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

•Lead incident investigations and collaborate with responsible department managers to define and implement corrective and preventive actions.

•Perform follow-up and effectiveness check of implemented corrective and preventive actions.

•Develop and manage Eagle's OHS training programs.

•Perform and/or facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.

•Conduct and/or facilitate new employee and visitor safety orientations/briefings.

•Assist in the development and delivery of Emergency Response Plans (ERPs).

•Manage safety equipment and safety vendor contracts.

•Assist in creation of safe job procedures to minimize risk of hazards.

•Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, SDS's, training records, and incident reports.

•Liaise with regulatory agencies (e.g. Alberta OHS, Workers' Compensation Board – Alberta), and ensure proper documentation for inspection and audits.

•Support and participate in Eagle's Workplace Health and Safety Committee activities.

•Monitor and report safety KPI's and trends to management, recommending improvements as necessary.

•Issue safety memos for any unsafe acts or conditions identified.

•Promote employee engagement in health and safety initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement.

•Travel as required to other Eagle facilities as well as for conferences, tradeshows and training when necessary.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

•Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or a related field.

•2–5 years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in aviation/aerospace industry.

•Working knowledge of Canadian OHS regulations.

•Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessments, and safe work practices.

•Excellent computer skills related to Microsoft Office and Safety related software suites.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

•Knowledge of statistical techniques and data analysis.
