The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and building strategic partnerships within the assigned regional territory. This role involves identifying opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and developing strategies to achieve long-term, profitable sales growth.

What will you do?

Strategic Broker Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong broker relationships serving as their primary point of contact at Gore Mutual.
  • Address broker concerns and resolve issues promptly to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain broker information, ensuring leadership and principals contact list is up to date for own portfolio of brokers

Broker Growth & Profitability Management

  • Proactively identify challenges and opportunities within the organization, working collaboratively with senior leaders to develop solutions
  • Drive the resolution of complex issues by bringing together the right stakeholders and resources

Broker Reporting and Analysis

  • Regular reporting on broker performance metrics, key considerations and market trends to broker senior management.
  • Analyze broker data to identify patterns, area for improvement, and new opportunities for growth.
  • Provide data driven insights and actions plan for monthly BD Business Performance Review
  • Understanding and knowledge of Gore's product across all lines of business.
  • Ability to drive product adoption through a schedule of broker interactions including touch points, marketing, meetings and performance management updates

Influencing Positive Outcomes

  • Knowledge and understanding of Gore's broker value proposition by segment
  • Ability to passionately articulate this to all stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with an acute ability to pitch, persuade, influence and sell
  • Facilitation of broker engagements by colleagues to meet specific business goals including senior management interactions, underwriting visits, Finance, Marketing
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze, understand and synthesize date, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Frequent reporting of broker performance with specific action plans as part of the wider Distribution reporting framework

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Management, and/or related field
  • 5+ years of Insurance related experience in a broker facing position
  • Relationship management of brokers and experience cultivating relationships with new appointments
  • Experience in Successful sales performance in a business-to-business environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and influencing abilities.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Data analysis and research proficiency
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Familiarity with Insurance industry initiatives and events

Salary Band: CAD 57,000.00 - CAD 105,500.00
