About the role

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Learning & Employee Experience, the Advisor, Learning will support the training and professional development of CDIC employees, with a strong focus on overseeing the learning platforms and tools, to support the delivery of learning programs and content.

This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. Preference may be given to candidates located in the National Capital Region. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role

  • Maintain strong communication linkages and relationships with key internal stakeholders, to coordinate and manage training requests and projects.
  • Support and facilitate learning programs and events, that align to the diverse needs of CDIC and result in increased levels of effectiveness and engagement.
  • Design and facilitate engaging and effective learning content, including e-Learning modules, instructor-led training materials, and blended learning approaches, tailored to specific needs.
  • Track and evaluate the impact of training programs using metrics like post-training assessments, competency evaluations and business outcomes to continually refined training programs and improve ROI.
  • Administers CDIC's Rotation Program, including developing reporting metrics on ROI of program.
  • Stays updated on emerging learning technologies and best practices to incorporate innovative approaches into training programs.
  • Oversees the Learning Management System (LMS) and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Research and manage various external vendors and tools to support learning experience
  • Other duties as required

  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and obtain relevant information from subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge of learner / user experience development practices, learning theories and practices.
  • Previous experience in the creation and delivery of learning packages, including in instructional design.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess training needs and measure program effectiveness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects while meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team member within the ethos and values of CDIC.

SKILLS you bring

  • Completion of a University Degree in Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or relevant work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in a related field to the position.
  • Tech savvy, experience with technical tools like Articulate 360, Canva, Audacity, and the Office 365 suite of products.
  • Strong proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-Learning platforms.
  • Experience with internal communications, graphic design, or writing copy for web is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing training.

Language Requirements: Bilingual Imperative: Level (BBB/BBB)

Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
