The Role

We are looking to hire an Operations Manager to join one of North America's leading providers of waste and environmental services. Serving nearly 25 million customers through our network of recycling facilities, landfills, and collection operations. Known for their strong foundation of safety, reliability, and professionalism.

Located in Cambridge Ontario, this Operations Manager will ensure the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by effectively managing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations, including gatehouse, sorting, and loading
  • Ensure systems run efficiently and meet performance targets
  • Minimize handling and operational costs
  • Improve truck turnaround times
  • Identify and propose operational improvements
  • Manage contracts and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Monitor and maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility
  • Prepare and analyze budgets and operational data
  • Lead, train, and evaluate employees; support a positive team environment
  • Conduct safety meetings and provide staff training
  • Submit required reports on time
  • Directly supervise 45 full-time employees
  • Indirectly oversee 4045 full-time employees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or High School Diploma/GED (accredited) with 4 years of relevant experience
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement)
  • Experience leading a team of 45 salaried employees, including managers and supervisors (preferred)
