Position: Analytics Delivery Group (ADG) Manager

Location(s): Toronto, Canada

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • ADG Managers lead execution of analytics and/ or visualization workstreams. ADG Associate Managers own a work-stream from translating high-level business needs & hypotheses to analysis plan, collecting and transforming data, generating analytical insights, and developing data visibility/ business intelligence solutions.
  • ADG Managers can structure complex analytical problems and produce high-quality analyses with little guidance from Managers and Client Initiative Leaders. They are highly proficient in big-data analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R and are experienced in manipulating granular transactional or customer-level data as well as establishing best practice standards for the wider team to implement. They create the analysis plan, plugging in the pieces between target state deliverables and piece-wise targets and can own the delivery of the analytical pieces, guide analysts on the team as needed. They identify relationships among complex data from diverse areas, contribute to identification of “so what”, produce insights and recommendations from the results of data manipulation, and prepare high quality visibility solutions using off-the-shelf visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView) or Essex's proprietary solution builder tools. ADG Associate Managers collaborate closely with UI/ UX designers on translating business needs to solution designs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from engineering, economics, analytics, finance or related fields with strong academic records.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics and/or data engineering.
  • Proficient in one or more big data analytics languages - SQL, Hive, SAS, Python/PySpark or R.
  • Proficient in developing dashboards using data visualization platforms (Tableau, PowerBI or QlikView).
  • Proficient in performing high-quality exploratory/ diagnostic analysis in Excel.
  • Ability to translate high-level business needs into an analysis plan, structure complex analytical, data transformation tasks, and produce high-quality solutions and implementable insights.
  • Strong ownership mindset and experience in collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and working teams across business, finance, analytics, and technology.
  • Prior experience in guiding and mentoring junior resources.
  • Enthusiasm to quickly learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in an international environment with a global team and clients from diverse geographies.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working in professional services firms and/ or banking, insurance, or other financial institutions.
  • Open to travel and exploring the world.
