Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in the not-for-profit sector for a client of ours to lead a software systems migration project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing the transition from Raiser's Edge to DonorPerfect (or similar platforms) and understand the nuances of NFP fundraising systems, financial reporting, and database mapping. This contract opportunity has an initial term of 6-months and is open to candidates Canada-wide (though preference will be given to candidates who can work hybrid on-site in Edmonton, AB).

This role is instrumental in ensuring our clients donor management system is transitioned effectively, reports are correctly structured in the new platform, and all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project lead, reporting directly to the internal sponsor.
  • Coordinate with a consultants, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure project milestones are tracked and met.
  • Translate business needs into detailed project plans and oversee implementation from start to finish.
  • Ensure accurate reporting setup in DonorPerfect.
  • Map out existing Raiser's Edge database (currently disorganized and underutilized).
  • Provide direction and documentation throughout the software changeover process.
  • Liaise with finance to align with SAGE financial reporting.
  • Incorporate fund codes, PO codes, and direct mail campaign data.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing systems changeover projects in the not-for-profit space.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising databases, ideally Raiser's Edge and/or DonorPerfect.
  • Experience with direct mail campaigns, fund/PO codes, and financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent mapping, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of data integrity, system workflows, and end-user training requirements.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating within a small, multi-functional team.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with SAGE for financial reporting.
  • Previous work in or with small to mid-sized charities.
  • Understanding of reporting customization within DonorPerfect.

  • Flexible workday (7 hours/day)
