About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic full-timeSenior Buyerto join our Operations team.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, theSenior Buyerwill be responsible for managing the procurement process for various materials and services essential to our operations, ensuring that we maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in our supply chain.
The candidate must exhibit a customer-first attitude with excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to stay focused and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. A strong sense of awareness and comfort working through ambiguity or unexpected challenges is key to success in this role.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively procure materials for assigned products and commodities, including electronic components, custom-designed circuit boards, and mechanical parts. Use MRP and other tools to confidently calculate and anticipate requirements to ensure seamless production flow.
- Build and maintain strong, solution-oriented relationships with suppliers to drive competitive pricing, ensure on-time delivery, and resolve issues quickly. Serve as the confident primary contact for price negotiations and complex commercial matters.
- Take initiative in cross-functional projects and new product introductions by collaborating closely with R&D, Marketing, and Sales teams. Stay curious and responsive to evolving needs to ensure material availability supports project timelines.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement approaches that support broader company goals and long-term success.
- Monitor industry trends and supplier performance with a critical eye to make informed, forward-thinking purchasing decisions.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to reduce costs, streamline processes, and enhance procurement effectiveness, bringing a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation
What you'll need to succeed
- A Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 5-7 years related experience in a manufacturing organization.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
- In-depth understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost reduction and value creation.
- Familiarity with quality standards and compliance regulations relevant to manufacturing.
- Familiarity with legal requirements of contracts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a diverse work group in a professional and courteous manner.
- Proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- A professional certification (e.g. SCMP, CSCMP, CSCP) is a plus.
