Confined Space Rescue Specialist will provide confined space non-entry rescue, entry rescue services, as well as attendant services. Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and guidelines on confined spaces, restricted spaces, and the development and implementation of on-site rescue procedures for confined and restricted spaces at a provincial level and confined spaces and hazardous confined spaces at a federal level.
- Support the identification of actual and potential hazards within confined spaces that have not been identified within client confined space hazard assessments in order to determine appropriate controls for the protection of entrants, attendants and the confined space rescue team.
- Advise clients of hazards observed in the course of confined space work so that appropriate levels of controls can be implemented.
- Inspection of confined space rescue and personal protective equipment, reporting any deficiencies.
- Complete confined space entry permits, design and implementation of confined space rescue plans, and completion of hot work permits as required. Submit documentation to head office following projects.
- Perform and implement confined space non-entry and entry rescue techniques.
- Provide First Aid and CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) as required.
- Prepare, load, unload, and clear related to confined space equipment for projects.
- Drive to and from client locations. At times this role will require employees to drive long distances and stay overnight in hotels for multi-day projects.
- Complete client and contractor orientation training programs as required.
- Attend and participate in health and safety trainings as assigned.
- Report any incidents, injuries, illnesses, or client hazards to your supervisor.
