We are hiring a Fabrication Supervisor in Brampton, ON. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in the fabrication of metal and will supervise 12-15 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:Supervisory Duties:- Manage and direct fabrication team members to ensure efficient production flow and high-quality output.
- Manage production machines such as punch press, break press, CNC etc
- Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating team members, ensuring proper cross-training where necessary.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure all team members adhere to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Lead by example to create a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Address employee concerns, administer disciplinary actions when necessary, and provide performance feedback.
- Monitor employee attendance, scheduling, and work assignments to ensure optimal productivity.
- Ensure all fabricated parts meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
- Review work orders, blueprints, and job schedules to determine material requirements and fabrication processes.
- Identify and resolve production inefficiencies, ensuring deadlines and delivery schedules are met.
- Oversee proper machine maintenance, tool usage, and work area cleanliness to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
- Conduct quality inspections, troubleshoot defects, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Work closely with production managers, supervisors, and other departments to optimize workflow.
- Implement and monitor lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation, reports, and checklists related to production.
- Track inventory levels of raw materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement as needed.
- Required: High school diploma or GED; minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of fabrication supervision experience.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, bending, and assembly.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to operate fabrication equipment, forklifts, and cranes safely.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with MRP/MES systems is a plus.
