ABOUT THE ROLE
The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive HR services that support business objectives and foster a high-performance culture. This position provides expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, policy compliance, and HR program execution. Acting as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, the HR Generalist helps cultivate a workplace where people thrive.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Culture
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries, offering guidance on HR policies, conflict resolution, and best practices
- Support leaders in addressing performance and workplace concerns in a fair and consistent manner
- Drive initiatives that reinforce our company culture and employee engagement, including internal events and communication strategies
- Maintain visibility and build strong, trusted relationships across the organization
Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and offers
- Ensure all job descriptions are accurate, current, and aligned with organizational needs
- Represent the company at job fairs and collaborate with external recruitment partners
- Lead and continuously improve the onboarding experience for new employees
- Administer role-based testing and assessments as part of the hiring process
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Coordinate and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Kronos and EasyPay, including year-end tasks
- Administer employee benefit programs (health, dental, LTD, EAP, RRSP), including onboarding, terminations, and renewals
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and related programs
- Oversee administration of employee allowances and reimbursement programs (e.g., boot, wellness, computer purchases)
- Prepare reports and metrics related to payroll, benefits, and HR programs
- Draft, update, and ensure compliance with payroll and benefits policies
HR Operations & Strategic Support
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal HR policies
- Provide input on HR policy development, training, and communication initiatives
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and HR reporting
- Prepare regular and ad hoc HR analytics to inform decision-making
- Contribute to performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
- Support cross-functional programs, including Health & Safety
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline
- CHRP designation completed or in progress
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as BambooHR, Kronos, and EasyPay is considered an asset
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration
