Position Overview: The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily terminal operations to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and on-time service delivery. This role provides leadership to frontline employees, supports terminal processes, and fosters a safe and productive work environment. The Terminal Supervisor works closely with Management, Dispatch, and Drivers to meet performance targets and customer service expectations.Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a safe work environment by proactively identifying and addressing safety concerns.
- Monitor daily operational performance and ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Communicate effectively with Management, Dispatch, Drivers, and Staff to coordinate freight flow and assign work.
- Ensure proper equipment is utilized and available for outbound shipments and loading/unloading processes.
- Coordinate the loading of all dedicated LTL deliveries and straight trucks to meet early morning cut-off times.
- Support accuracy targets by ensuring freight is properly itemized, weighed, and cubed to meet reweigh & cube goals.
- Attend scheduled meetings and respond to emails, phone calls, and other communication in a timely manner.
- Positive attitude, dependability, and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to complete paperwork and use scanning equipment where required.
- Willingness to attend required training (e.g., Dangerous Goods, Forklift certification).
- Clear criminal background check.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with TruckMate or similar transportation management systems is considered an asset.
- Comfortable using scanners and other handheld technology to track freight.
- Monday - Friday
- 6:00 AM start time
- Warehouse environment — may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels depending on the season.
- Safety footwear required.
