We are looking for a Banquet Cook 1 motivated by a passion for food and personal and professional growth.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and cook meals with consistent standards of food quality and customer satisfaction,
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Prepare and cook menu items to banquet standards and according to banquet event orders (BEOs).
  • Ensure consistent quality and attractive presentation for weddings and special functions.
  • Assist with event plating and service coordination to guarantee smooth and timely execution.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure proper food storage, handling, and labeling procedures are followed.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to kitchen leadership.
  • Support mise en place duties with efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute changes or special dietary requests.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Actively participates in training of culinary skills to junior colleagues and apprentices,
  • Ensures that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard,
  • Act as a role model to junior colleagues by maintaining a professional work ethic and displaying sound cooking skills,
  • Motivate and lead to ensure high team morale,

Who you are:

  • 2+ years of banquet or high-volume event cooking experience.
  • Pastry experiences an asset.
  • Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification or ability to obtain upon hiring.
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of commercial kitchen operations.
  • Ability to take direction, stay focused, and work well under pressure

Considerations:

  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
  • While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool
