Your Role as Bakery Production Manager
The beautiful wall of bread and treats you see at every COBS Bread location doesn't happen by accident. It's due to the hard work, skills and insight of our production team—lead by you. Right now, we are looking for personable Bakery Production Manager to share their love of fresh bread with our loyal customers.
Bakery Production Manager start their days with an empty bakery but when they leave—it's filled with the artisan bread and delicious treats for the community to enjoy. Candidates with previous experience in baking and customer service are preferred although it is not essential as we offer full training
What Your Day Looks Like
- Lead and work as part of a small team to bake products from scratch early each morning, following carefully crafted recipes
- Supervise, train & co-ordinate daily production duties, ensuring recipes are followed and wastage is minimized
- Order weekly ingredients and supplies needed for the daily operation and ensure FIFO is followed
- Address customers complaints or concerns and manage incident report forms.
- Maintain up to date records of stocks, repairs, sales, wastage and any other reporting forms required from time to time
- Lead and work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience
- Train, develop, manage and lead production staff ensuring the highest quality of product is produced at all times and in a timely manner
- Schedule staffing for daily operations making sure productivity targets are achieved consistently
- Set and review production schedules to make sure product is out on time to meet customers needs.
Requirements

- You have previous supervisory experience in a bakery or food production environment
- You are a great communicator, problem solver and critical thinker

- You are an early riser who can work independently or as part of a small team.
- You have an ability to forecast and adjust production level based on a detailed review of business data
- Provide delightful customer service
- You have a great attitude and good organizational skills
- Maintain Health and Safety, Food Safety (HACCP) standards while upholding COBS Bread brand standards
- Food safe and Basic First Aid certifications are an asset
- You share in a commitment to the success of your team, the bakery, and to your own development
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines
- Able to multi-task and flexible to work in different stations
- You should be willing to work overnight or early morning shifts, as a COBS Bread baker/production manager starts work between midnight and 4am
- Prior experience of working at COBS or similar fast paced bakery environment is an asset
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
- Frequent turning and reaching
- Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping
