Our client in the public sector is seeking SAP FI Consultant to support their SAP implementation.
Location: Mainly remote, some hybrid - Kitcherner/Waterloo area
Responsibilities
- Lead or support the configuration and implementation of SAP FI modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Funds Management (FM).
- Translate public sector financial and regulatory requirements into SAP system designs and configurations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions comply with public sector accounting standards (e.g., PSAS, IFRS).
- Support project phases including business process design, system configuration, testing, training, and go-live.
- Ensure proper documentation of configuration, functional specifications, and user training materials.
- Coordinate with SAP CO and MM/SD consultants to ensure seamless integration of financial processes.
- Assist in month-end/year-end closing processes and financial reporting activities.
- Provide go-live and post-implementation support including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and public sector governance policies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of SAP FI configuration and implementation experience, ideally with public sector or government clients.
- Strong working knowledge of public sector financial processes and fund accounting.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
- Proven ability to gather requirements and deliver SAP solutions aligned to compliance and audit standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with both technical teams and finance users.
