The Electrical Design & Assembly Co-op will be responsible for the design and specification of Zarpac line projects and initiatives. While working under the support of a senior designer, the co-op student will perform the following functions:

• Read, follow and create electrical schematics for control panels and field devices using AutoCAD Electrical and printed drawing packages
• Interpret and create Electrical BOMs for control panels and electrical installation packages
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning packaging machinery on the shop floor
• Debug, update and test PLC and HMI programs for automation machines and production lines
• Create/edit engineering documentation required to support construction and installation of packaging line control systems.
• Assembly and wiring of panels and packaging equipment

Who we're looking for?

• A 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the co-op Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics program
• Completed at least 1 prior work term
• AutoCAD Electrical experience creating electrical schematics, control panel layouts, conduit, and cable tray layouts considered an asset
• Knowledge and experience working with controls and automation hardware (PLC, relays, servos, HMI, Push buttons, sensors, valves, safety circuits) considered an asset
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office required
• PLC programming experience in AB and/or Siemens Series PLCs considered an asset
• Experience with Factory Talk Studio and Wonderware considered an asset
• Ability to work with hand tools
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
