The opportunity
H&S offers hybrid working conditions and invites applications from candidates currently living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Applicants should be able to work from our Toronto office at Yonge & Eglinton as needed, based on business requirements.
This role involves frequent travel throughout the province of Ontario and occasional airline travel and overnight stays for multiple days to support programs and relationships in Manitoba. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Resuscitation Business Development & Engagement, the Resuscitation Program Manager (RPM) plays a critical role in advancing Heart & Stroke's mission to enhance emergency cardiovascular care and first aid education across Canada by deepening engagement with a diverse network of instructors, training providers, customers, and corporate accounts.
In this pivotal role, you'll help Heart & Stroke “Own the Market” in Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut, ensuring we are recognized as the leader and preferred choice for employers and healthcare providers seeking best-in-class training from our network of high-performance, accredited instructors.
As an RPM, you will:
Grow and support our national network of instructors and training providers.
Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen our programs within the regions of Ontario and Manitoba.
Lead engagement efforts that elevate our brand, enhance program delivery, and ensure high-quality education.
Collaborate with internal teams—both within the Resuscitation Program and across the broader organization—to develop innovative solutions and deliver value to our training network and customers.
Ensure compliance with Heart & Stroke's policies, standards, and resuscitation guidelines.
Represent the Foundation at provincial meetings, conferences, events, and other key activities.

How you will make an impact every day
Knows our customer and instructor network
Develops a strong understanding of our customers and instructor networks and nurtures strong relationships with key stakeholders and constituents by tracking interactions and outcomes in Salesforce CRM.
Engages directly and regularly with top performers in our network in their region and across disciplines and market segments.
Assembles and consults with trusted individuals in our network to acquire their insights, advice and guidance.
Tracks and develops performance plans to address poor performers in their region.
Deepens our understanding of our constituents through effective investigation & documentation.
Knows our Programs
Understands and communicates the role, value proposition, and key differentiators of our products and programs.
Becomes intimately familiar with our programs through direct observation of courses and review of our training materials and policies.
Contributes to the development and/or implementation of marketing strategies that specifically promote resuscitation and first aid programs.
Utilizes Resuscitation portal, Salesforce system and PowerBI dashboards to evaluate and monitor performance of our products and programs and to develop informed plans.
Helps us “Deliver the Mission” by expanding our reach and network
Develops plans to grow and expand the reach and effectiveness of our network and implements innovative solutions to do so.
Engages with customers and potential partners to explore and expand opportunities for new business development.
Identifies, recruits and cultivates a network of high-performers and sponsors individuals for promotion to Instructor Trainer (IT) status, as appropriate.
Develops and maintains a provincial network with relevant institutions and professional organizations to connect and align with.
Keeps up with the latest industry developments, including direct market competitors.
Follows up with new leads and referrals generated from the specialist and others on our team.
Prepares status reports on goals and performance.
Supports our partners and network
Navigates complex issues to support positive outcomes for our partners in each segment of our network.
Develops strong communities of practice within our networks and regularly meets with them to advance objectives, deepen relationships and address emerging issues.
Acts as an ambassador and representative of Heart & Stroke, by consistently demonstrating our values.
Shows a bias for action and a sense of urgency to resolve matters and identify solutions.
Effectively and consistently activates a solution-oriented, relationship-centric remediation approach to resolve complaints and QA investigations, to maintain and improve the performance of our instructor network.
Deactivates instructors who are not adhering H&S criteria and agreements.
Who we need
Education
Bachelors degree in health science, business or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certificate/training in adult education preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in the CPR / first aid training marketplace.
Heart & Stroke Instructor certification and/or other agency instructional experience an asset.
Experience in marketing and communication would be an asset.
Knowledge of provincial healthcare systems and resuscitation training agencies an asset.
Experience working in the health care field would be an asset.
Experience in the not-for-profit sector would be an asset

Flexible/adaptable, able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; able to effectively manage a demanding schedule and prioritize responsibilities.
Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and life support equipment, an asset.
French/English bilingual an asset.
Volunteer management and supervision skills an asset.
