You'll lead and manage the intricacies of various civil engineering projects and their respective teams, ensuring a seamless progression from inception to completion, including the review and seal for land development projects, primarily subdivisions. The Civil Project Lead will be integral in the design, analysis, and multi-disciplinary coordination of land development projects. This encompasses grading, servicing, stormwater management, and water distribution systems for subdivisions and site developments.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Preparation of Civil Engineering Design and Documents for projects related to land development, primarily subdivisions and site plans
  • Design of civil infrastructure including site servicing, grading, stormwater management, watermains, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, noise studies, etc.
  • Project management duties including assisting with proposals, responsible for projects from the initiating to closing phases, being the main point of contact with project stakeholders, and being knowledgeable of the Site Plan Application process and Draft Plan conditions process
  • Review and seal civil engineering documents (calculations and reports) and drawings to ensure accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to the design
  • Coordinate daily team priorities to achieve project milestones
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development.
  • When required, coordination for the preparation/review of tender/contract documents and act as tender and contract administrator
  • When required, coordinate/review/assist field staff with site investigations, general reviews of construction, and preparation of field review reports
  • Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion
  • Coordinate designs and drawings across multiple disciplines
  • Represent the company with approval authorities and third parties for coordination

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian University preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on land development consulting/design. (Preference will be given to candidates experienced with the subdivision process from concept to draft plan of subdivision to detailed design to construction and close-out.)
  • Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer or a relevant L.E.T. with the Professional Engineers of Ontario required
    • Candidates who are eligible for licensure within 6 months may be considered
  • Experience with Provincial and local Municipality design guidelines, the Ontario Building Code, and other applicable Canadian Engineering standards
    • Knowledge of the Planning Act is considered an asset
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites. Preference will be given to candidates with Civil3D experience
    • Knowledge of engineering software related to Civil engineering (EPANET, MIDUSS, PCSWMM, AutoC3D, others) would be considered an asset.

  • Capable of working on and/or managing several projects at the same time and with the projects in different stages
