A fast-growing food and beverage manufacturer in Vaughan, ON is looking for a Sr Project Engineer to lead and manage capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment installations across two high-speed manufacturing sites. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving plant operations through well-executed project planning, design, and implementation. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $125,000–$150,000 based on education and experience

A fast-growing food and beverage manufacturer in Vaughan, ON is looking for a Sr Project Engineer to lead and manage capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment installations across two high-speed manufacturing sites. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving plant operations through well-executed project planning, design, and implementation. If you're experienced in capital project management, food manufacturing systems, and cross-functional execution, this role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on plant performance and growth.
What You'll Do
- Plan, execute, and oversee capital projects across all operational assets including processing equipment, packaging lines, HVAC, wastewater systems, ammonia systems, roofing, and general facility infrastructure
- Define project scopes, create timelines, manage budgets, and coordinate vendors and contractors
- Design plant layouts and modify equipment placements using AutoCAD to support production goals
- Lead installations, upgrades, and modifications of machinery, utilities, and support systems
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless project integration
- Develop project documentation including SOPs, manuals, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Ensure all projects align with health, safety, environmental, and food safety regulations (SQF, GMP, etc.)
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment or infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions
- Track project KPIs and report progress to senior engineering and plant leadership teams
- Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing engineering-based solutions
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering within a food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing environment
- Proven experience managing capital projects from design through execution
- Strong understanding of food processing and packaging equipment and plant utilities
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word)
- Familiarity with SQF, GFSI, GMP, and health/safety compliance in food production environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting
